[22 August 2006 - Des Moines, ]

ChurchTech today announced plans to move forward with a new phase of ministry marked by four distinct areas of operation: ChurchTech Press, ChurchTech Institute, ChurchTech Events, and ChurchTech Consults

ChurchTech Press will provide books and other media resources to equip churches in their use of technology. The first book will be released electronically by the end of 2006.  Future titles are under negotiation.  A Periodical will begin circulation in December 2006.

ChurchTech Institute will provide specialized training through coursework that leads to a certificate or a unit of Continuing Education.  The first certificate program is the Certified Ministry Technologist and courses for that program will be test implemented in Des Moines starting in October.  Negotiations are under way to have the Continuing Education coursework crosslisted with a well respected online education provider.  The ChurchTech Institute is also in negotiation with partners for the development of a missional D. Min. program to be taught in part via the internet and in part via an intensive immersion experience with pastors in Eastern Africa.  The initial program would be limited to 20 North American pastors and 20 East African pastors.  Dr. Miller travels to Kenya in September and more details will be available soon after.

ChurchTech Events will be the organizational arm which returns to the roots of ChurchTech in offering distinctive cutting-edge conferences, seminars, and trade events on a variety of topics.  Sites are now being scheduled around the US and Canada for 2007.  Requirements for host sites and available regions will be available on the website soon.

ChurchTech Consults will continue Dr. Miller's consulting work on topics related to technology and ministry.  We offer several specific consultations such as: General Technology Consultation,  Pre-Construction Consultation, Preaching with Video consultation, and Technology Budget Consultation.  Every consultation is customized to the unique ministry setting of the client church.  We can also create a specialized consultation for your specific technology challenge.  It is important to note that we don't sell equipment or software - the solutions that we recommend are based on your needs - not what we have to sell.

Symbiosis remains a goal of ChurchTech.  As such, the Press, Institute, Events, and Consults operational departments will continue to share staff and other resources and to incorporate learnings from each of these endeavors in order to maintain high standards of excellence.  A strategic relationship with a respected organization dedicated to transforming congregations through Church Growth has already begun and will be announced in the near future along with new services to be provided in cooperation with that ministry.  Further, we are creating processes to make it easier to access simultaneous services from multiple operational departments.  For example, an individual church may serve as host for a Power - Point - Preaching event and, on the same provider trip, receive a one-on-one preaching consultation for the senior pastor of the host church.
