ChurchTech Events will be the organizational arm which returns to the roots of ChurchTech in offering distinctive cutting-edge conferences, seminars, and trade events on a variety of topics.

bulletPower - Point - Preaching: Video projection is one of the most rapid trends to spread across churches.  This trend spans denominational borders as well as geographic ones.  It also spans a crucial chronologic border - most pastors preaching today developed their particular styles in a setting that did not include a video screen.  Some elements of preaching span all contexts - and some don't.  This one day seminar helps preachers to consider such issues as:
bulletHow do the congregation, the screen, and I interact?
bulletWhat software should I use for the sermon slides?
bulletWhat software should I use to control the presentation?
bulletWho should advance the slides?
bulletDo I need a monitor?
bulletWhat kind of images should I use?
bulletWhere do I find images?
bulletWhat about text?
bulletHow do I incorporate video clips?
bulletWhat equipment do we need?

In the first century A.D., the technology of Roman roads and sailing vessels sped the spread of the Gospel. During the Reformation, it was the printing press. Today we have video projection, laser printers, and the Internet. Along with the capabilities offered by these tools, come maintenance problems, upgrade questions, and constant budget stresses. Technology can be both a blessing and a burden for churches today.

bulletIf you are a church leader, then you already know that in some ways churches are very much like other businesses and organizations—yet in very essential ways churches are different. The same principle applies to technology utilization. Though we can borrow some expertise from other fields, wisely integrating technology in the church requires specialized knowledge of both ministry and technology.
bulletIn this one day seminar, you will gain a “big picture” perspective of how technology can be harnessed in furtherance of the vision and purpose of your church. You will also learn some very handy practical tips. Your church can then become more effective and intentional.
