The Ministry Empowerment Specialists

Back in 1990, a student at Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa organized a conference on Computers in the Church. It focused on software for Bible Search and Church Administration. The strong response from that first conference led to later events in Texas, Wisconsin, Missouri, Virginia, and Indiana. ChurchTech is still led by that former student, now Dr. Brad Miller, an ordained minister of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

The experience gained through years of conferences and congregational consultations, as well as ministry service in parish and institutional settings, has affirmed the importance of providing guidance on the use of technology in ministry. These experiences have been shaped through the participation of Lutherans, Episcopalians, Baptists, Roman Catholics, Presbyterians, and Methodists, We've also benefited from the involvement of laity and church professionals from the Church of the Brethren, Assemblies of God, Church of God, and AME, as well as many friends from independent and nondenominational traditions.
