Small groups are like fruit (literal fruit: apples, oranges, strawberries, etc.). Fruit is a basic component of a healthy diet. It is not the only component. Some people hate berries or can’t eat grapefruit because of a potential medication interaction. Small groups should not all look alike or function alike. Churches need to continuously provide new small group opportunities. What parent would stop offering any new fruit to their child, just because they dislike bananas?
